Act of Kindness
Kindness sounds simple. Hold the door. Share your snack. Say well done when someone gets it right. Smile at the kid eating alone. These things take about thirty seconds and cost almost nothing, and they can change a whole day.
Psalm 103 says God is abounding in loving devotion: His kindness overflows, more than enough, spilling out. The beautiful idea in Scripture is that His kindness is meant to flow through us. When we are kind, we are doing something God does. We are being a small mirror of a very big love.
Children are extraordinary at this. They have not yet learned all the reasons why kindness is inconvenient. A child who hears that God loves people will often simply go and love people, without needing a strategy.
Look for one moment today to be kind in a way nobody asked you to be. That is where faith gets hands and feet.
“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion.”
