This Cookie Policy explains the small pieces of data that Psalms for Kids may store on your device, and which outside services can do the same when you use certain parts of the Site. It expands on the cookies section of our Privacy Policy.
The short version
We set no advertising cookies and run no ad networks. What we store ourselves is functional: it remembers your preferences and your progress so the Site behaves sensibly on your next visit.
What we store ourselves
- Preferences. Your choices about how the Site looks and reads — for example light or dark appearance, and your language — so you do not have to set them again.
- Progress. Things like badges earned, psalms read, and where you left off in a reading plan or game. This is kept in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not sent to us, it is not tied to a name or an email address, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Essentials. Data needed to make a form submission or a download work correctly during that visit.
Outside services
A few parts of the Site load content from other companies. When you use those parts, those companies may set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control:
- YouTube. Video pages embed players through youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play.
- Netlify. Our host serves the Site and processes newsletter and contact form submissions.
- Google. The Bible Buddy chat helper passes messages to Google’s Gemini API to generate a reply.
Analytics
Where we measure how the Site is used, we look at aggregated figures such as which pages are popular — not the behaviour of an individual child. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share data for cross-context behavioural advertising. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
Managing and clearing cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings → Privacy. Clearing site data for our domain will also erase locally-stored progress such as badges, so you may wish to note anything you want to keep. Blocking cookies entirely may stop some features working as intended, but the Psalms themselves will still read perfectly.
