This Privacy Policy explains how Psalms for Kids (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Psalms for Kids website (the “Site”). We respect your privacy and the privacy of the children who use the Site, and we aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information we collect
- Information you provide. Your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a form, and the contents of any message you send us.
- Information collected automatically. Limited, aggregated analytics such as page views and general device or browser information. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data.
- Messages sent to Bible Buddy. If the Bible Buddy chat helper is used, the text of the message is passed to our server and on to Google’s Gemini API so a reply can be generated. We do not store these conversations, and we do not link them to a name, an email address, or an account. See our AI Disclosure for the full picture.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide the resources you request (such as the reading plan), to respond to your enquiries, to operate and improve the Site, and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Children’s privacy
The Site is designed for families to enjoy together. In line with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent protections elsewhere, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. Features such as newsletter sign-ups, donations, and the contact form are intended to be used by a parent, guardian, teacher, or other responsible adult.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the contact page. We will review and delete the information promptly, and we will confirm what we hold if you ask. We do not condition a child’s participation in any activity on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary, and we do not market to children or use their information for behavioural advertising.
Artificial intelligence
The Site includes one AI feature, the Bible Buddy chat helper. Messages are processed by Google’s Gemini API to produce a reply and are not retained by us. Bible Buddy is instructed never to request personal information from a child, and to direct a child to a trusted adult if they raise anything serious. We do not use AI to profile visitors, to target advertising, or to write scripture — verse text is fixed and human-verified. Cookies and analytics
The Site may use cookies or similar technologies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how it is used and to keep it working properly. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings.
We set no advertising cookies. Where the Site loads content from another company that may set its own — the video pages embed YouTube through its privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie domain, which requests nothing until you press play — our full Cookie Policy lists what is stored and how to clear it.
Service providers
We rely on trusted third-party providers (such as our hosting platform and email or form tools) to operate the Site. These providers process information only on our behalf and under their own privacy and security commitments.
Those providers currently include Netlify (hosting, and newsletter and contact form submissions) and Google (the Gemini API behind Bible Buddy). We do not permit them to use information from this Site to build advertising profiles.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You may unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message. Subject to applicable law, you may also contact us to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising — see Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date shown above indicates when it was last revised, and any material changes will be reflected on this page.
