Brave Like David

Before David was a king, he was a kid — a shepherd boy who watched sheep on the hills. One day he stood up to a giant when grown-up soldiers were too afraid.

What made David brave? He didn't say, “I'm strong enough.” He said, “God is with me.” When the LORD is your light, the dark feels smaller. When God is your safe place, even giants don't get the last word.

Being brave doesn't mean you never feel scared. It means you bring your fear to God and let Him hold your hand.

The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
