Praise to the Eternal King

PraiseGratitude

This is an alphabetical praise psalm where David declares he will praise God forever! Every generation will tell the next about God's mighty acts. God is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. He lifts up those who are falling and gives food to all His creation.

  1. 1I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your name forever and ever.
  2. 2Every day I will praise You and glorify Your name forever and ever.
  3. 3Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; His greatness is unsearchable.
  4. 4One generation will commend Your works to another; they will proclaim Your mighty acts.
  5. 5They will speak of the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and I will meditate on Your wonderful works.
  6. 6They will proclaim the power of Your awesome works, and I will declare Your great deeds.
  7. 7They will celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness.
  8. 8The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in loving devotion.
  9. 9The LORD is good to all; His compassion rests on all He has made.
  10. 10All Your works will praise You, O LORD; Your faithful people will bless You.
  11. 11They will tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,
  12. 12so that all men may know of Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
  13. 13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all His promises and faithful in all He does.
  14. 14The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
  15. 15The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time.
  16. 16You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
  17. 17The LORD is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all His works.
  18. 18The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
  19. 19He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
  20. 20The LORD watches over all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.
  21. 21My mouth will proclaim the praise of the LORD. Let every creature bless His holy name forever and ever.

What it means

God is great, kind, compassionate, and close to everyone who calls on Him. His kingdom lasts forever. We should praise Him every day and tell everyone about how wonderful He is.

A little prayer

Lord, I praise You! You are great and good and kind. You are near when I call on You. Let me tell everyone I meet how wonderful You are. Amen.
