Peace
Peace is one of the most searched-for things in the world. People look for it in quiet holidays, in sorted schedules, in having enough money or enough friends. And those things are good — but none of them are quite the peace the Psalms are talking about.
The Hebrew word for peace — shalom — means wholeness. It is not simply the absence of noise or trouble. It is a deep-down okayness that doesn't depend on everything going right. It is a calm that can exist even in a storm.
Jesus stood up in a boat on a raging sea and said, 'Peace, be still.' The storm obeyed. The same God who spoke to that storm speaks to yours. When anxiety fills a room, His peace is bigger. When uncertainty keeps you awake, He is already there in the dark, steady and close.
You can ask for this peace today. It is not earned — it is given. 'The LORD blesses His people with peace.'
“The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.”
