MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Christian Family Solutions is expanding and moving its ARMOR Day Treatment for Teens to increase availability and improve the experience for teens in southeastern Wisconsin. The ARMOR program previously offered in the CFS Brookfield location is moving to The STRONG Milwaukee Center operated by CFS at 510 East Burleigh Street in Milwaukee.

“We have outgrown our Brookfield space,” says Dr. Ashley Schoof, senior clinical director for Christian Family Solutions. “Moving teen day treatment to The STRONG Center allows us to admit more teens and make use of the Center’s group space, gymnasium, and rooms for individual treatment.”

The STRONG Milwaukee Center is home to the STRONG Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Program for children with significant behavior and mental health issues. STRONG stands for Successfully Treating and Reaching Our Next Generation. STRONG was developed in 2016 by Christian Family Solutions to meet the mental health needs of children ages 4-14 who typically do not have access to mental health care, whose futures depend on accessing treatment.

ARMOR is a community-based day treatment program for high school teens ages 13-18 who need to effectively manage depression, anxiety, trauma, or other serious mental health conditions. The program includes at least 15 hours of treatment five days per week with the accountability of a group setting. For many clients, ARMOR is an important treatment step to prevent the need for hospitalization or residential care. It is also an appropriate step down from hospitalization or residential care.

With this move, CFS will now offer expanded options for ARMOR:

• An AM group which runs Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

• A PM group which runs Monday – Friday from noon to 3 p.m.

• For those not able to travel to Milwaukee, CFS offers an ARMOR program via telehealth, which runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Admission to ARMOR or STRONG requires referral from a clinician, physician, or parent/guardian along with a diagnostic assessment. To learn more, contact Christian Family Solutions at 800-438-1772 or visit www.ChristianFamilySolutions.org.
