Peacemakers Needed by Russell M. Nelson

“You have your agency to choose contention or reconciliation. I urge you to choose to be a peacemaker, now and always.”

President Nelson speaks of the importance of not acting out when we become angry, whether it be physically or verbally. This is such an important message that everyone should hear. The world would be full of love and peace, instead of hate and violence, if mankind could only control their emotions more effectively.

Jesus Christ is the Strength of Parents by Dieter F. Uchtdorf

“Help your children build faith in Jesus Christ, love His gospel and His Church, and prepare for a lifetime of righteous choices.”

Elder Uchtdorf shares a perspective about babies coming to this earth that we might not have taken the time to think of. He shares that Heavenly Father takes a risk every time He sends one of His children to this Earth. A baby with unlimited potential, complete innocence, and perfection is placed in the care of imperfect adults. How hard it must be for Christ to entrust His children. This is why we must do our absolute best to raise our children as God would like us to.

The Greatest Easter Story Ever Told by Gary E. Stevenson

This talk is an excellent reminder of the true meaning of Easter. Society has gotten carried away with modern Easter traditions, such as Easter egg hunts, Easter bunny, and Easter baskets. While these activities are full of fun, it’s important that we focus on the true meaning of Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Finding Personal Peace by Henry B. Eyring

“I pray that you may find peace, help many others to find it, and pass it along.”

Henry B. Eyring shares our desire as humans to feel at peace. He reminds us that Heavenly Father has promised us peace, if we choose to live by faith and follow His commandments. Living righteously and with a strong faith and testimony will bring peace.

Abide in Me, and I in You; Therefore Walk with Me by David A. Bednar

“The Savior’s promise to abide in us is true and available to every covenant-keeping member of His restored Church.”

God will never call us to do something that we are not capable of. Even if it seems impossible, if God is with us, anything is possible. If we have faith, and keep our covenants, God will help us overcome all.

The Answer is Always Jesus Christ by Russell M. Nelson

“Whatever questions or problems you have, the answer is always found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.”

The scriptures are not just stories or history books, they are divine revelation given to us by God. We can find answers to all of our questions in them. No matter what we are going through, reading the scriptures, and listening to Jesus’ teachings will give us the answers and advice we need to make the right choices.

The Teachings of Jesus Christ by Dallin H. Oaks

“We are given the scriptures to direct our lives. My message today consists of a selection of the words of our Savior—what He said.”

The scriptures are a wonderful gift from God to help us find answers to questions, and acts as a guidebook for us to get through life. A lot of the scriptures focus on Jesus’ actions, but it’s equally important that we take time to pay attention to what He actually says as well. His words are revelation, He shares important messages that we cannot overlook.

Accessing God’s Power through Covenants by Dale G. Renlund

“As you walk the covenant path, from baptism to the temple and throughout life, I promise you power to go against the natural worldly flow.”

The natural man does not have the desires to be humble, meek, and willing to follow God’s commandments. But we have the power to overcome the natural man, so that we may have the Spirit to be with us, and benefit from God’s hand in our lives.

Just Keep Going– With Faith by Carl B. Cook

“Exercising faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, helps us overcome discouragement no matter what obstacles we encounter.”

When life is hard, when we face trials, endure grief, struggle mentally and emotionally, there is only one thing that can truly help us get through it – faith! Having faith is the key to enduring the suffering that comes along with an earthly life. Faith in Heavenly Father’s love for us is all that we need.

Christlike Poise by Mark A. Bragg

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39).”

Poise isn’t mentioned often these days, but it’s the perfect way to describe the level of peace and calm that we should strive for during all times in our lives, especially during events that we find ourselves under pressure.

Have I Truly Been Forgiven? by K. Brett Nattress

“The promise of complete and perfect forgiveness is made to everyone—in and through the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ.”

No matter what mistakes we’ve made, we can be forgiven. Because of Jesus Christ, and His atonement, no mistake is unforgivable if we simply choose to repent for our sins. Heavenly Father is a loving father. He wants us to repent and come back to Him, no matter what.
