ENGLISH VERSION: Today’s Bible Verse (30.06.2023):
VERSE:
…joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,…” (LUKE 15:7 KJV).
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, we will meditate on the scripture that says, “…joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth,…” (Luke 15:7).
When a man turns away from his sinful ways and returns to the Lord, the whole heaven becomes a ball of celebration. There is joy and happiness among the angels. God’s joy knows no bounds.
Moreover, the Lord gives a great increase in the life of that child of God who repents. The scriptures say, “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill,…” (1 Samuel 2:8). How does he raise? How much does he raise? He exalts that man to his throne. He raises to sit with Him. He fills you with all the blessings of the Supreme.
While Jesus was hanging on the cross, he saw the thief who was crucified with him repent and turn to himself. Even while he was suffering, Jesus was willing to lift him up. How much did he raise? Raised from the underworld to paradise. If he had died unrepentant, he would have gone to hell.
You have seen big cranes working in ports. It stretches out its great arms, picks up the ship’s cargo, lifts it very high, and brings it out. In the same way, the Lord graces a repentant man from the dust, garbage, dust, and the underworld to sit with him on his throne.
Consider how much the prodigal son’s condition changed after he repented. Before that he had no food to eat, no clothes to wear, and lay among the swine, longing to fill his stomach with the swine’s bran. His conscience would have argued with him. What a despicable situation! What a miserable life!
But look how much he changed when he repented and came to his father. His father hugged him lovingly and kissed his neck. His house was filled with instruments and dancing. Look at that young son sitting in that place full of dancing and joy. Such a sudden great uplift in his life while sitting among pigs was due to his repentance.
Scripture says, “…joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” (Luke 15:7)
Beloved, may the Lord exalt you even more than the father embraced that repentant brother-in-law and exalted him that day. Will you repent and come back?
PRAYER:
God of love! Even this day may I seek you with true repentance and a broken heart. I come before you with a repentant heart, aware of my sins. I am sorry for all the things I have done against you. Father, have mercy on me. The scriptures say that you are long-suffering. So please forgive my sins. Let your hand be upon me even now, and deliver me from sin completely. Lord, cleanse me. Make me pure and holy before you. Lord, I tear my heart out and beg you to forgive my secret sins. Thank You for bringing me out of the darkness of this world. I glorify You, thanking You for Your love in seeking me, a lost, straying sheep. God, I believe in the word that you have removed my sins as far from me as the east and the west. Help me to repent. Remove all my weaknesses and strengthen me. Help me to hear your voice in my spirit from today. Help me to do Your will in my life. Bless this day. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen.
