VERSE:
And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? (JUDGES 6:14 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today, Let us meditate on the promise taken from Judges 6:14, “And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? (JUDGES 6:14 KJV)”.
What is the mighty promise of the mighty God of Israel, the Lord of hosts? It means ‘go with the strength you have’. Yes, depart in the name of the Lord. The Lord is with you. His presence, His power comes with you. The days you have been waiting for are over.
Many people are tired today because of their problems. One day Gideon was sitting in such fatigue. Because his enemies, the Midianites, ruled over him. Whatever was done had to be done out of fear of the enemy. If only the Lord is with us, why are we in this predicament? Gideon was tired of asking where was the wonderful God our ancestors described.
Problems and fatigue will come in your life. You have tribulation in the world. But the Lord is not one who casts you into tribulation forever. He who gives up in the blink of an eye but gathers with tender mercies. He strengthened the frightened Gideon and called him “mighty man.” He looked at him who was suffering because he had no strength and no power and said, “Go with this strength you have.”
One of the devil’s great tricks is to bind people with a spirit of fear. A fear of situations. A fear of problems. A fear of the future. By scaring people Satan makes God’s people inactive. The Bible says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Do not be discouraged by your weakness. Don’t give in to inferiority complex thinking about your shortcomings. Look to God. How powerful he is. He loves you and is able to reward you. Yes, you will surely receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you (Acts 1:8).
Beloved, the Word of God, who is spirit and life, will surely strengthen your spirit, soul, and body. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) Has not Paul said so?
The scriptures say “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8).
So do not be weary and go forth in the name of the Lord. The Lord will be with you. His presence, His power comes with you. The days you have been waiting for are over. God will surely do great miracles in your life.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father of my love! I praise You for Your promise to encourage me. I thank you because you will surely help me. I surrender my life in your hands. Lord, give me the grace to follow your plan. Life’s difficulties and demands wear me down, but now I surrender everything at Your feet. You will replace all my shortcomings with Your riches. Please fulfill all my needs. Remove from me the spirit of unbelief, doubt and fear. My fatigues will take everything away. Let the spirit of weariness depart from me, in the name of Jesus. Even now, let me rest with your strength. May you be blessed with strength to come and be seen in the presence of God. Let your strength be made perfect in my weakness. I have strength to do all things through Christ who strengthens me. For the past few days I have tried to open the door that was closed by relying on my own strength and self-knowledge. Today, knowing that they are all in vain, I surrender myself at Your feet. You know me. I know you will rescue me at the right time. I am sure you will give me an open door after these trials. May I be blessed to complete every work I do on this day. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen.
