VERSE:
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (PSALM 34:1)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today we will meditate on the verse Psalm 34:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Praising the Lord is the greatest gift we have. What is special about us in the world other than glorifying God? Decide to love the Lord unconditionally. Take the time to praise him enthusiastically with a smile on your face.
David had the experience of praising the Lord all the time. He was a man who sought and loved the Lord from a young age. Even in his life, sufferings and unexpected terrible events came! However, he was not afraid of any of them and kept praising God even in such situations.
For this purpose the Lord took charge of his life. He Himself lifted him up so that no one could easily push him down. He blessed his servant David in amazing ways by bestowing him with highness and a noble position in life. “Praise be to the Lord, who has not given us up as a prey to their teeth.” (Psalm 124:6) says the psalmist.
A family came to the pastor and said, “Sir, our house has become dark. During nights, fear, darkness, and horror surround us. The vessels are rolling due to the struggle of the devils. The bed is shaking. We are all suffering from great fear and pain.” The pastor looked at them and said quietly, “You don’t thank Lord, you don’t praise the Lord, you don’t do family prayer, the sound of singing praises to the Lord doesn’t rise in your house, is it true?” He asked. They bowed their heads and agreed that it was true.
In the absence of light the dominions of darkness multiply. Lack of praise leads to worries and fatigue. Light a lamp to ward off darkness. The preacher said, “Praise the Lord for driving away Satan.” Look at what David says. “I will praise the Lord forever; His praise is always in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1).
Praise at all times, praise in all circumstances, praise in all, praise for all, praise for all men. Can you praise any problem? You might ask that. Yes, praise can be given. All things to those who love the Lord. It is happening for good. Believers can praise in any situation.
Can we praise in times of loss? You may ask that. Can be praise liberally. Didn’t Job praise that? ‘The Lord gave, the Lord took away; Praise be to the name of the Lord, didn’t he? (Job 1:21). When his beloved Lazarus died, Jesus Christ raised his eyes straight to heaven and praised him saying, “Father, you always hear me!” Yes, the Lord can be praised even in times of loss.
Do you know in what situation David praised that I will praise the Lord forever? Read the introduction to Psalm 34. It is mentioned as a psalm sung by David when he disguised himself before Abimelech and was chased away by him. Saul drives David aside. Abimelech, on the other hand, is suspicious. Even in that situation, David was able to praise the Lord enthusiastically that I will always praise the Lord! Beloved, praise the Lord in all circumstances!
PRAYER:
Dear Savior! May I also realize how pleasant praise is and give me the grace to beware of it under any circumstances. Change all the deficiencies in my life and grant me the grace from today to be careful and careful in praising you like the psalmist David. Grant me the experience of always praising You like David from the depth of my heart and through it, I will feel Your presence from today. Give me a heart that always praises You for everything. Today I am determined to praise You and to glorify You by telling of Your glorious things. Lord, change all the shortcomings in my life and grant me the grace from today to be careful and careful to praise like the psalmist David, as it pleases you. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen.
