VERSE:
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. (PSALM 149:4 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord has given you a beautiful promise to hold on to today. “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” (Psalm 149:4).
Let us meditate on the first part of this verse. “The Lord delights in his people;…” another translation renders, “The Lord delights in his people;…” Yes, the Lord loves you even though the whole world belongs to the Lord. Although the Lord made the whole world, He is in His people. He is only happy.
Who are his people? In John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” We read that. Because you have accepted Him and believed in His name, you are His people and He is pleased with you.
“Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.” (Deuteronomy 33:3) says the scriptures. Yes, the Lord loves his people. He feeds His people with the word for each day. We read that “…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4).
He teaches you what to do every day. “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” (Philippians 4:12).
God will teach you as he taught Paul. He will teach you how to manage life even if you have a lot going on in your life. You will get satisfaction in life. Only He can make your life beautiful.
We read in the scriptures, “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” (Psalm 35:27). The Lord delights in the well-being of his servants. He blesses you with his word and blessings.
Let us meditate on the second part of the verse Psalm 149:4, “. . . adorns the meek with salvation” There are also human adornments. There are also decorations of God. Man adorns himself with fine clothes, perfumes, and various jordans. Scripture says that the beauty of a youth is in his prowess (Proverbs 20:29).
The apostle Peter writes, ‘The outer adornment of braiding hair, wearing gold ornaments, and wearing high clothes is not an adornment to you, but the incorruptible character of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is an incorruptible adornment, is your adornment; that is precious in the sight of God. In the same way, the holy women who believed in God in the past were obedient to their husbands. adorned themselves’ (1 Peter 3:2-5).
What is beautiful in the eyes of the Lord? The meekness and quiet spirit hidden in the heart (Galatians 5:22,23) are what adorn us beautifully. Holiness is the adornment the Lord delights in (Psalm 96:9). Godly wisdom adorns our head (Proverbs 4:9). The garment of salvation, the garment of praise, the robe of righteousness, etc., are seen as beautiful garments in the eyes of the Lord (Isaiah 52:1; Isaiah 61:10).
Beloved, God wants your hearts to be adorned with divine adornment. He expects you to worship the Lord with holy adornment. King David prophesied, “Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.” (Psalm 110:3). He says.
Therefore, beloved, adorn yourselves not with perishable ornaments, but with eternal holy ornaments. Decaying worldly adornment leads to suffering and destruction. Immortal eternal holy adornment leads into glory and supreme blessings.
PRAYER:
Dear father of love! Through your word I have come to know how much you love me. Let your love pour into my heart and help me overflow. May the Holy Spirit come into my heart and bless me completely. Send me your word daily and nourish me. Adorn me with Your holiness. Remove all my sins and make my life beautiful. Let your beauty shine through me. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen!
