ENGLISH VERSION: Today’s Bible Verse (02.08.2023):
VERSE:
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (PSALM 100:3 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The verse of promise we are going to meditate on today is Psalm 100:3, “Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”
Once upon a time you were scattered sheep. Then you were raised to the higher position of obedient sheep. Don’t stop there. To be the rich sheep of the Lord, you must find good pasture.
Good grazing makes the soul content. David says, “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” (Psalm 23:2). As the shepherd leads the sheep to the meadow, he makes a noise and goes ahead. The Shepherd knows well where the pasture is. The young cubs will run with joy as they follow the shepherd’s path and find meadows.
‘Grass’ refers to God’s word and teaching. The Lord will satisfy you with the sustenance of the Lord’s Word, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” “My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:.” (Deuteronomy 32:2).
Have you heard the story of Tenali Raman? Once the king gave him a lot of gold coins and asked him to breed an Arabian horse. But Tenali Raman confined the Arabian horse in a dark room and fed it with only dung and dry hay.
Due to lack of grass, the horse lived in the dark room as bones and skin. Some complained to the king about this, so he sent his minister. When the minister poked his head into the dark room to look at the horse, the horse mistook his beard for grass and pulled it.
This is how the enemy is deceiving people today, keeping them in darkness and introducing human imaginations, figs and illusions in the name of philosophy. People yearn for soul-stirring verses.
But David knew and tasted the excellence of the word of the Lord. Blessed is he who meditates on it day and night. That is why he points to the Lord and joyfully says, “He feeds me in grassy places.”
Beloved, it is God’s will that you live in all things and be well, even as your soul lives.
PRAYER:
Lord of love! Thank you Lord that I am your people and the sheep of your pasture. You are my good shepherd. You will carry me; You will guide the sitting water plant. Praise be to You for feeding my family and those in my charge properly and shepherding me like a shepherd. Guide me with your wisdom. You lead me to the waterside where I graze in grassy places. Transform exhausting and difficult situations that brings me down. As You are my shepherd, I trust that You will lead me without fail. Meditate on your words. They will obey your voice and learn. Help me grow in your love. Your word is a lamp to my feet. I pray that you will put your word in my mouth and protect me with your great promises. Your word gives me life; To bring happiness and miracles in my life. May I believe your word and help me experience your power. Lord, fill my heart with your word, leaving no space behind. It will make you feel perfect in spirit and bring glory to your name. Give me the desire to read your scriptures and meditate on every word. May I meditate on each of your words and help me to live holy and walk knowing your will. Your word gives light to my path. Help me to do Your will in my life. Bless this day. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen!
