“Targeting” Children ~ RELEVANT CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Have you ever heard this quote?

In the race to a child’s heart, the first one there wins.

This quote has never been so relevant to heed as it is today.

We are in a battle for the heart and soul of the next generation.

Look what Andrew Sullivan, a cultural commentator who is himself gay, says about the core belief of critical queer theorists.

“There
is no such thing as human nature. Everything is socially constructed.
Their goal is therefore to “liberate humankind from the prison of
gender,” beginning with children.

Sullivan goes on to say, “If
they could get into kids’ minds, bodies and souls from the very
beginning of their lives, they could abolish the sex binary from the
ground up. And so they got a pliant, woke educational establishment to
re-program children from the very start, telling toddlers that every
single one of them could be living in the wrong body, before they could
even spell.”

Beth Bukoski, an associate professor at the University of Texas’ College of Education says this, “I think parents don’t always give credit to their kids. Because kids can
hold and understand a lot more than we think they can … I think it has
to start at a young age. That’s how you normalize it. Normalizing that
LGBTQ+ identities exist, have always existed, and are, in fact, quite
normal.  The goal is to infiltrate and indoctrinate the next generation with a LGTBQ mindset.”

Target has recently created products to help this change happen. They have joined other companies and initiatives to push this agenda into the lives of the next generation. Here are just a few examples of how Target is “targeting” children with the LGTBQ lifestye.

They are offering over 2,000 products, including clothing, books, music and home furnishing as part of their Pride Collection.

The items include
“gender fluid” mugs, “queer all year” calendars and books for children
aged 2-8 titled “Bye Bye, Binary,” “Pride 1,2,3” and “I’m not a girl.”

Here are some more products Target is selling:

Rainbow-colored onesies for infants.

T-shirts that say, “Girls Gays Theys.”

“Queer all year” calendars.

Part of the new “PRIDE” collection introduced by Target includes
clothing made by a UK-based brand whose designer has expressed satanist
views.

Abprallen, a London-based company which is headed by a transgender
man known as “Erik,” sells apparel that includes satanic imagery including pentagrams, horned skulls, and references to the devil.  One design found on the apparel maker’s T-shirts and pins has the message: “Satan respects pronouns.”

Last year, Erik wrote on the brand’s Instagram page: “Being called a
demon is something I can cope with, and the idea of a trans demon is
pretty damn cool, most of my work focuses on gothic or dark and
satanic imagery with bright colours and LGBT+ positive
messages.”

Another t-shirt that is part of this messaging says “Bible Girl 666.”

In Target’s children’s section, there is a large rainbow sign that says #takepride.  This clothing section includes shorts, shirts and other LGBTQ merchandise.

Target is not alone in this battle for the next generation. You now constantly see commercials and television shows that promote the LGBTQ agenda through imagery and messaging.

The once kid-friendly and family-friendly Disney company has also started promoting a gay lifestyle in some of their movies and TV shows.

Libraries and schools are inviting drag queens to come and read books that promote the lifestyle to our children.

Kellogg’s released a “Together With Pride” cereal for
kids. It features a tear-out “Together Band” that children can use to
share their pronouns. The cereal company is donating $3 for every box
sold to GLAAD, an LGBTQ group. At an age when children are still figuring
out what two plus two is, Kellogg’s teaches kids that they must choose
and express their pronouns.

Even “Blues Clues,” the popular preschool show, had an episode that featured a song that celebrates LGBTQ identities. The song was sung by a cartoon drag queen.  It praised families with gay, lesbian, transgender and nonbinary identities.

So…as we face these challenges…what should be our response?  What should we do?

Remember who the enemy is.

“For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  Ephesians 6:12

Behind all of this is Satan. He wants to hurt, oppress and destroy. It’s his sick way of trying to get back at God

Pray for children and their parents.  Pray God will protect children.  Pray for parents to have wisdom as they navigate the culture we find ourselves in.  Pray for teachers.  Pray against the agenda of the evil one.  Prayer is a powerful tool.  Nothing will change without prayer.  Spiritual victories will not be won apart from prayer.

Empower parents.

Parents have the greatest influence in their child’s life.

Give them tips about how to talk with their children about this.

Encourage them to take a stand for what’s right in their community.

Encourage them to be involved at their school.

Speak the truth with love.

Stand for the truth without being obnoxious.  People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Remember what the Bible says about this in I Corinthians 13?

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

If you are going to make a difference, you will share the truth with tears in your eyes.  You will care about people no matter where they are in life.

You will see the multitudes as Jesus did.

“Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in
their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased
bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the
crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep
with no shepherd.
‘What a huge harvest!’ he said to his disciples. ‘How
few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!'”

Pray for our country.

Pray for our children.

Pray for people in leadership.
