5 Reasons Why You Need a Ministry Coach ~ RELEVANT CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Do you feel stuck?

Do you feel like you are spinning your wheels in a leadership rut?

Do you want to get to the next level as a leader?

Are your job responsibilities so intense that you don’t have the strength to move forward?

Sounds like you need a coach.  Here’s why:

It’s time to invest in yourself.

You spend your time pouring into the lives of others. That’s a good thing.  Except when you don’t have any margin in your schedule to invest in yourself.  You cannot effectively invest in others if you are not being invested in yourself.

I often use the illustration about the oxygen masks that fall from the ceiling on airplanes.  If you listen to  the instructions, you will hear the captain say, “If you are traveling with a child, put his or hers on first before securing yours.”

Why do they say that?  It’s because if you are passed out from a lack of oxygen, you won’t be able to help those who are near you.  Another illustration is running out of gas. You have to stop for gas or you will find yourself stranded by the side of the road.  It’s the same way with coaching.  Coaching will give you the tools you need to finish strong.

Blind spots.

We all have them.  We can’t see them.  That’s why they call them “blind spots.”  That’s where a coach comes in.  A coach can help you find and see your blind spots and grow in those areas.  This can play a major role in your personal and leadership growth.

The opportunity to connect with and learn from proven leaders.

If I was undergoing brain surgery, I would want an experienced, proven surgeon.  As would you.  If you want to grow as a leader, choose a leader who has a proven track record of building ministries.  There are a lot of “coaches” who can give you advice, but they have never built anything themselves.

The opportunity to grow as a leader.

What got you to where you are today will not take you to where you need to be tomorrow.  A good coach will help you get to the next level as a leader.  He or she will push you outside of your comfort zone.

Comfort zones are where dreams go to die.

It takes work to grow.

It takes vulnerability to grow.

It takes determination to grow.

It takes stretching to grow.

Being part of a coaching group gives you the opportunity to learn from the coach and other people who are part of your group.

A coach will help you define your goals and outline a path to reach them.

What are your goals for this year?  Have you defined them?  A coach can help you.

What are the steps that will help you get there?  A coach can help you create a pathway to your goals.

Do you need a coach?  I got you.
