VERSE:
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (JAMES 1:8 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8) Let’s meditate on the verse today.
It is very important to concentrate your mind before praying and to resolutely remove all obstacles that come against your prayer. If you fail to create within you a spirit of prayer and an atmosphere conducive to prayer, you will not be able to pray powerfully.
A zoo had a strange chamelion. A large number of people came to see that strange chamelion. Do you know what was the reason behind? That chamelion had two heads. The second head was where the tail should be. It had eyes on both sides. There were mouths on both sides.
Although the strange chamelion attracted many people, its condition was very pitiful. When the chamelion tried to run, its front legs moved in one direction and its hind legs in the opposite direction, so the chamelion could not even move.
This is how many people are like this two-headed chamelion at the time of prayer. On one hand they seek the presence of God. The other side is full of worldly concerns. Some people’s bodies turn to God. But the soul returns to the business of the day. On the one hand they feel holy. On the other hand, they are making plans for the sinners.
The apostle James said, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” (James 1:8,7,6).
What are the barriers to prayer in your life? Maybe it’s due to circumstances. Or it could be hindrances due to ambivalence. Or it could be the hindrances of sin. Or it could be the barriers that come with a guilty conscience.
Beloved, whatever the obstacles may be, break them down today with determination and zeal. Move forward with one mind in your prayer life. Know that double-mindedness will not do you any good.
PRAYER:
Lord of love! Fill me with steadfast faith as I pray. I must never doubt the power of my prayer. Grant me the grace to come boldly into Your presence. You are a loving God who hears and answers my prayers. I praise You for giving me the wisdom to pray with faith. Give me the grace to grow in the faith you love in my life and to take hold of your hand. O God who initiates faith, remove the unbelief found in me and sow the seed of faith. Removes the lack in my life. May I receive them from You by faith and live as a witness to others. Lord, no matter how many trials Satan brings in my life, help us to overcome all trials with the help of you who are the initiator and finisher of faith. Give me the faith to believe in you all the time. Give me the faith to move mountains. Take away my hopelessness. It will help you to believe deeply. Help me to always seek and pray for your will. Thank You that Your ears are attentive to my cry. I pray with faith that you will surely answer my prayer. From now on I will receive your miracles. I pray in Jesus name Good Father, Amen.
