In this fun mystery game, kids explore how God works through unlikely people as they guess who is hiding the spies.
This game helps kids explore Joshua 2 with the Bible story: God sends Rahab to protect spies.
Mystery Game: Nod, Hide
Say: Rahab helped the spies by hiding them under bundles of flax on her roof. Rahab was from the enemy country, but God used her to do something important. God works through unlikely people.
Let’s play a game where you’ll guess who is the most likely person to be hiding spies.
- Kids sit in a circle.
- One child leaves the room (or stands facing a corner if that’s safer).
- You tap one child on the head—that child will be Rahab.
- Make sure everyone knows who Rahab is, except the child who left the room.
- Invite the child who left to sit in the middle of the circle.
- Rahab will do a quick nod at kids around the circle.
- If someone gets nodded at, they will hide under their arms like a spy hiding under a bundle of flax.
- The child in the middle watches carefully and guesses who Rahab is.
- When the child in the middle guesses correctly, switch roles and play again.
- Let the game keep going as long as needed to fill time until parents begin to arrive.
